Growing Old is Getting Old: Part III

Well people, I finally did it. I’m writing this blog from my brand-new townhome. Sorry for the delay in writing third and final installment of “Growing Old is Getting Old”. Every free moment I’ve had in the past 2 months has been devoted to this house. I moved in on June 26th and since then it’s been a dream come true. It’s definitely been an expensive dream come true as well. This home was ready to move into immediately. Really no work had to be done on the home. Only things I really needed to do was fully furnish it and switch out some dated ceiling fans. I can’t imagine what completely renovating a home must feel like. The only stressful times came when I had to rely on others to get things done.

The one truly difficult time I had throughout this process was getting the Internet installed in ...

Growing Old is Getting Old: Part II

In my last blog I told you about some big changes going on in my life. I was shopping for a new car and in the market for my first home. A lot has happened in the past month. While I’m still waiting to pull the trigger on the new car, I handled getting my first place recently. I found this lovely townhome in Kendall that has pretty much everything I could ever want out of a first home. Even though the location is far from where I work, it’s in an area I’m always hanging around in. I can walk to the mall and most importantly I can walk to the grocery store.

While looking for a place was a stressful endeavourer, purchasing a place wasn’t all that difficult. I was working with a seller I knew so it made everything easier. We signed the contract two weeks ago ...

Growing Old is Getting Old

I woke up the other day and I realized I was 24 going on 25. That’s my mid-20’s people. I’m the old dude at the club now! How did this happen!? Where did the last 5 years go?

My wonderful job keeps me very young. There’s something about wearing shorts to work that sort of stunts your adulthood. That isn’t a bad thing at all though. In fact it’s a great thing. It’ll get greater and greater with each passing year. However in the meantime adulthood just sort of snuck up on me.  I’m in my mid-20’s and I currently live at home with my dad, pay no rent, and drive a real sh*tty Scion TC. These things were awesome just 4 years ago. Yet while I was busy getting my career started these things stayed the same. All of a sudden I’m too old to be living ...

Show Guests

It’s been a few weeks since my last blog. When I blog it’s typically because I have something to say. To be quite honest with you, I don’t have anything opinionated or insightful to share with you. Some may argue that I never do. Regardless, since nothing really strikes me, let’s do something a little more interactive than usual.

For those of you that don’t know, I have many responsibilities on this program. The most notable one is probably guest booking. Recently, we’ve cultivated some new guests that have become friends of the show. I think the infusion of Marcellus Wiley, Adrian Wojnarowski, Jamal Anderson, Alan Thicke, Rick Barry, Bobby Valentine, and Dan Rather has been great for our show. I think having Stephen A., Charles Barkley, Robert Smith, and Uncle Luke on is great, don’t get me wrong. I just think when I book them too often it might ...

Tim Tebow’s Super Bowl Commercial

Posted 1/18/2010 12:31:00 AM

A good number of foolish people are up in arms over Tim Tebow’s decision to take part in a pro-life Super Bowl commercial. Many have decided to be vocal with this Tebow story and turn it into a political platform. I want to join the party.  I want to turn this into my political platform… against political platforms. Far too many are making this an abortion issue. Some don’t want the commercial to run at all. I’d be totally shocked if that becomes a growing sentiment.  However, I’ve seen some of the same politicians that called for Trent Lott’s head give Harry Reid support. I guess anything is possible.

To be totally upfront with you, I don’t know if I’m pro-life or pro-choice. I’d like to think I’m pro-life because of my religious beliefs. However, if I were ever faced with a difficult decision regarding a baby ...
