Bad Blog... By Hoch

I watch way too much TV. I feel like my grandmother when she'd "shut it down" every afternoon to watch her "stories." I'm in a phase where I'm watching a good 2 or 3 hours of TV every night. There's just so much good stuff on, even my hours of watching doesn't allow me to see everything I want to see.

My wife and I usually put our son to sleep by 9pm-9:30... and then it's TV time. (Sometimes Facebook time...sometimes I actually read a book or magazine.) If I wasn't in the room, my wife would watch HGTV all night long. There's not a single thing on that network that she doesn't love. She also likes Food Network, DIY, and some sporadic others.

I think my favorite TV network is NatGeo. I'm a huge fan of "Locked Up Abroad," although I must admit that the show has gotten pretty weak this season. The people they're profiling are kind of boring and the show seems like it has just become a "don't smuggle drugs" PSA. If you haven't watched the show, do yourself a favor and watch it. There's nothing quite like watching dopey, broke kids think they'll be able to smuggle cocaine out of Barbados by taping it to their thighs. It's fascinating.

I'm also watching a lot of the new season of "Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives" on the Food Network. The host, Guy Fieri (who you might know from the Friday's commercials), visits different restaurants across the country that have good stories to tell. Places with lots of "personality." My wife and I actually took his advice last summer and stopped at The Beacon Drive In in Spartanburg, SC on our trip last year. The iced tea was so good, we went back this summer again, even though it was almost an hour out of the way. I don't want to turn this into an iced tea blog, because I don't even like iced tea. But the iced tea at The Beacon is the nectar of the Gods. I won't bore you with the story of how I ended up trying their iced tea even though I don't like iced tea, but suffice it to say I would drink it morning, noon, and night if it was available down here.

Somehow I've gone from writing about TV shows to writing about beverages, but that's ok. Only about six people read this blog anyway. Stewarts Orange 'n Cream Soda is probably the best bottled drink you can buy at a store. (They also have a cherry 'n cream which is pretty damn good too.) In all honesty, I actually like Mountain Dew Code Red as well. Nice flavor.

As I write this blog, I'm starting to realize why I'm always tired, don't have any energy, and generally feel like I'm 56 years old and not the 39 years old I really am. All I do is watch TV and drink sugary drinks. It's the perfect recipe for feeling sluggish. But I do enjoy my stories and my sodas. I'm pretty much lying at this point. I haven't had Code Red in a couple years. I haven't had Stewart's in 3 or 4 months, but just go with me on this. The only soda I keep in the house is Cherry Coke Zero. (The Zero products are unbelievably good.)

I'm debating now whether to continue this blog by writing about how much enjoyment I get out of playing my original Playstation with my 5 year old son, or maybe I should just end this blog now, as it has gotten progressively worse.

OK, since you're demanding it... Playing NBA '98 with my kid is like traveling back in time. I'm kicking his ass as everyone from Mark Price and Luc Longley to Joe Dumars and even the late Bobby Phils. If you want to take a cool look back in time, fire up an old video game that has the actual players from that era. (The '98 Lakers have Kobe Bryant... COMING OFF THE BENCH!)

OK, I don't know exactly what I accomplished on this blog but I'm done. I'm sorry.

I'm in I'll buy the team. I agree with you, Sedano talks over everyone, including his co-host who has more talent in her little finger than he would ever have in his life. Did you know that when the Miami Dolphins first became that Joe Robbie bought the team with actor Danny Thomas (if you don't know who he is google him). So I think history is repeating itself. So in 6 years we should be in the Super Bowl and lose to Dallas and the next year have another perfect season. Hoch where is the Q & A blog?

This blog has been as entertaining as listen to Little Rome at 7pm...anyone else swtiching over to K-Rog? My God...if i have a 1 dollar for every second of bad radio on 790 I would have tons... Little Lebby, Litte Rose & Little Sid & Krystal are killing me in the morning...Sedano manages to talk over everyone who calls, everyone on his show...Not to mention I called him 3 weeks ago, and I got dumped after makign the point that all these celeb owners of the dolphins would ruin the Dolphins team and Mike and Jorge killed me over the call was done...show's how much Little Lebby, and Joe Rose's luggage carrier know about business...you don't give up ownership or take millionaires $$ unless you made some serious promises on returns on investment...Oh and by the way Ross....your biggest tenant, your golden egg is leaving in 2010...the stadium, land, and team are going to be worth about 70% of what they are worth now...and I see a sale of the team in the next 2 years...come on Hochamaniacs lets pool our money and buy this team back
