Kimbo: The Aftermath… By Hoch

June 2nd, 2008

First off, I’ll say that our Kimbo Slice “Watch Party” at Boomers in Dania Beach was a HUGE success… I’m guessing 400-500 listeners packed that place with us and it was a great time. I always love meeting the listeners… Love when people come up to me and introduce themselves as “Fake Inner Circle” or “Limited Fake Kung Fu.” Always makes me laugh. Boomers was electric during that Kimbo fight… many thanks to everyone that showed up!

My initial reaction to the fight was that it was a little “fishy.” I thought the fight could have been stopped in the second round when Kimbo was on the ground taking an unholy beating from James Thompson. I’m not enough of an MMA fan to know whether or not they usually stop a fight at that point, but Kimbo was taking head shot after head shot and it was uncomfortable to watch. I felt as if I was witnessing a father of 6 get brain damage, and people were cheering for it. I also thought the fight was stopped a little too soon in Kimbo’s favor. I mean if you’re going to let Kimbo take that savage a beating, then you should let James Thompson take a beating too before stopping it like that. (I’ve since watched the fight again on YouTube, and after watching it a second time I’m ready to give Kimbo a little more credit than I did after the first viewing.)

After watching it again, Kimbo did actually show some ground skills. The truth of the matter is that everyone questioned whether Kimbo could fight at all from the ground, and I would now say he did a decent job. (Not great, but decent.) He was able to escape from some bad situations solely with brute force. I don’t think he’d be able to get away with that against a better MMA fighter, but he was able to do it against this opponent. After watching the fight, I think Kimbo has lost some of the “aura.” He certainly looked vulnerable, even though he walked away the winner. I still give him props… and MAD props to James Thompson. All in all, I would say it was an extremely entertaining MMA fight.

I thought CBS did a pretty good job with the broadcast. I’m sure all the MMA purists thought it was all too “over the top,” bordering on professional wrestling. But I enjoyed it. I like the big entrances and fireworks and all the “cheese” that came along with it. It made it more entertaining for me. Our listeners that were there seemed to love it too… There were a couple of James Thompson fans in our crowd… They made me laugh as they were taunting Dan throughout the fight when it looked like Kimbo might lose. All in all though, we had a great crowd at Boomers. I beat all comers in “pop-a-shot.” Our program director Steve White, who played Division I college basketball lost to me 53-17. I don’t have great basketball skills, but when it comes to pop-a-shot, I can’t be beat.

One of the real treats of the night was trying to watch Andy King, the producer of Sid’s show, try and climb the little rock climbing wall. Andy couldn’t make it to the top, even though plenty of 7 and 8 year olds were doing it all around him. I would say he gave a valiant effort, but he really didn’t. It was pathetic, and Sid should be embarrassed that Andy is his producer. (Andy’s girlfriend looked hot as usual.)

So, now it’s on to the next event… It’s not completely firmed up yet, but it looks like we’re going to do another Dania Jai-Alai night… This time on Wednesday, June 18th… And not only will there be dollar hot dogs and dollar beers this time… but we’re also going to give away a Nintendo Wii that night… Stay tuned for details… And congratulations Kimbo.

What the hell was on James Thompson ear??? That was the grossest shit I’ve ever seen! A little shady at the end but who cares Kimbo won! Good fight.

  • 2. manuel  |  June 2nd, 2008 at 2:40 pm

    Hoch,

I commend you on your unbiased and truthful recount of the fight.

Kimbo def was physically stronger which prevented Thompson from stretching his arm out to put him into a kimora (arm/elbow submission move) and yes, normally a fight is stopped with the way the 2nd round ended. Just to be fair (before King of Loserville attacked me again, just kidding), Kimbo did not sustain much damage as both fighters were completely out of shape and gassed and thus Thompson was not delivering hurting blows.

  • 3. Kenny  |  June 2nd, 2008 at 2:42 pm

I spoke with a friend of mine who had never watched an MMA fight before and had no idea who Kimbo was before reading Dan’s story in ESPN the Mag. He watched the event and said that he would definitely watch Kimbo again. I think that says it all, really.

  • 4. manuel  |  June 2nd, 2008 at 2:54 pm

I am curious and amazed how this was a lot of folks first viewing of MMA. I digress on my stance on Kimbo, because i’d be an idiot not to realize that people do want to watch him even though in the grand scheme of the sport; he is simply average or below average.

The name of the game in this sport (like in boxing and wrestling) is PPV buys. That’s where the big $$ are made and UFC has been very successful. Sure, the argument could be made that they don’t pay their fighters that much; but the top guys earn at least $500,000 per fight and also get points on the gate/ppv/merchandising/etc.

I guess my point is, if you saw the Kimbo fight as your introduction to MMA, wouldn’t you then flip over to spike and catch some of the UFC fights they replay to watch what you just saw; but at a higher level?

  • 5. Hoch  |  June 2nd, 2008 at 3:04 pm

By the way… Photos from the Kimbo Watch Party at Boomers are posted on the front page of this website now…

  • 6. hoops  |  June 2nd, 2008 at 3:07 pm

Great points Hoch, I would love to see Kimbo in a boxing ring as I belive that is his stroing point. The guy is tough and should be given credit. When is the Hoch going to take that 7-10 slot, so we can hear real radio

  • 7. jesse  |  June 2nd, 2008 at 3:08 pm

Was out that night and got home just in time for Kimbo fight. That ear thing was just sick, it actually made my wife tear up for thompson when she was watching it dangling like that.

But i would find it hard to believe after watching that boxing is more dangerous than that sport.

  • 8. manuel  |  June 2nd, 2008 at 3:14 pm

I was shocked that Thompson was cleared to fight with the dangling ear. I noticed the minute he walked to the ring that he was going to have to seriously protect it. I guess it would’ve hurt EXC and CBS more if they decided to change the main or even cancel.

What’s up with their time management of the event? Haven’t heard anyone talk about this. A bunch of my friends had gone out and set their TIVO’s only to realize that the event ran 40 MINUTES later than it was set for. That is inexcusable with only 5 fights of which 2 ended in the first round.

I’m pretty sure that will hurt the overall rating of the show or however they calculate the Tivo’d portion of the numbers.

  • 9. jesse  |  June 2nd, 2008 at 3:20 pm

4 observations from the pics of the event

    1. steve White is HUUGE
    2. Isreal gutierrez shirt looked a little tight
    3. Lebo looks way cooler than Dan
    4. stugotz #1 fan — PRICELESS!

Manuel I set my TIvo and the show after and still would not have gotten to see it all. that is pretty bad.

  • 10. manuel  |  June 2nd, 2008 at 3:36 pm

You know who’s Huge? Fake Cote and Josh Friedman.

  • 11. Steve White  |  June 2nd, 2008 at 3:39 pm

Hoch - let’s set the record straight. You did not beat me 53-17 at pop-a-shot. It was more like 30-20, which is shameful for me nonetheless. But you’re 5′4 so you’re shooting UP at the rim. For once your lack of height gives you an advantage at something. Now you’ll have to play Stugotz and his “I once hit six 3s in a half in high school” game. To quote the great Jimmy Cefalo - good luck!

  • 12. Hoch  |  June 2nd, 2008 at 3:41 pm

Shocking to me that Steve White would choose to defend himself by ADMITTING HE LOST. What kind of defense is that? I lost, but not by as much as you said… I scored over 50… You scored less than 20… Take it like the giant man you are.

  • 13. Steve White  |  June 2nd, 2008 at 3:45 pm

I can admit I lost. It’s game for people 5′7 and under. You’d probably be a better jockey than me too.

  • 14. King of Loserville  |  June 2nd, 2008 at 4:21 pm

Come on Steve…Hoch just stuck it in you…

It’s all coming back to me now…just like when Hulk Hogan slammed Andre the Giant…

Hoch beats the White…so who at the station would be White’s manager??

Anyone remember Heenan’s ridiculous blazer at Wrestlemania III?

  • 15. manuel  |  June 2nd, 2008 at 4:30 pm

I think the best wrestling manager at the station has to go to Sid, hands down.

He is crazy enough, talks enough crap and would def hit you with a foreign object when the ref is distracted.

  • 16. manuel  |  June 2nd, 2008 at 4:30 pm

I think the best possible wrestling manager at the station has to go to Sid, hands down.

He is crazy enough, talks enough crap and would def hit you with a foreign object when the ref is distracted.

  • 17. King of Loserville  |  June 2nd, 2008 at 4:40 pm

Hass…looks like CBS Saturday Fights got beat out by America’s Most Wanted…trying to get full ratings…

  • 18. manuel  |  June 2nd, 2008 at 4:44 pm

    King,

There’s an article in USA today about the ratings for the fight. Maybe that’s accessible online.

Looks like CBS did less share than normal at that timeslot; but a 270% increase in the demographic that is most desired (18-34). This was kind of expected though. I think any MMA event would’ve drawn well with that age group.

Looks like Kimbo might not be as big a draw overall as they thought.

King, do you have any numbers on the Tank Abbott PPV (buys)?

  • 19. Hassenpfeffer  |  June 2nd, 2008 at 4:59 pm

Thanks King….America’s Most Wanted? Huh. What was the margin?

And I am sure I have said this before but here is what I remember of Heenan. St. Louis Airport, I was driving the courtesy van the the airport Marriott. I stop and the place I was suppose to The Brain comes up to me all huffin and puffin trying to scream at me but is too winded. He was pissed because I didn’t stop and pick him up at the curb. I wasn’t happy when I told him that I would have gotten a ticket if I had because that was for cabs only. So since he couldn’t take his rage out on me he took it out on the 19 year old virgin girl behind the front desk. He put that poor girl in tears. Yeah I took her out (her name was Ann) she didn’t give it up to me. But I regress. So that will always be my only memory of Heenan. And if anyone brings him up again I will tell the same story. Everyone else from Pro Wrestling was very cool.

  • 20. Hassenpfeffer  |  June 2nd, 2008 at 5:04 pm

And if anyone brings him up again I will tell the same story. But maybe I will do a better job writing the story. It should have read “He was not happy when I told him I couldn’t stop there…”

  • 21. Sherryl  |  June 2nd, 2008 at 5:11 pm

    Cyn City,
That guy had what is called a califlower ear. Apparenly, he must have gotten in a fight prior or during work out. Anyway, it was a target for sure for Kimbo. Incidently, that was the first time that I ever watched Kimbo fight or MMA in general. To me, it looked like if favored Kimbo all the since the made his fight the main card that night. The production was over hyped and looked like a WWE production on steroids. It that was a TKO, I hate to see what one of those real TKOs like in MMA.

    Howdy, Hassy!

  • 22. Thomas Magnum  |  June 2nd, 2008 at 8:35 pm

Kimbo’s aura is clearly gone…his cardio is terrible and anyone with any decent grappling skills will pin him quickly. Now, if they stand toe to toe, Kimbo will always stand a chance. His punches are devasting…loved the ear exploding like beefsteak tomato.

  • 23. spike.  |  June 2nd, 2008 at 8:48 pm

Great time on Saturday night, Hoch. But not sure where you get 400-500 listeners from. Couple hundred Maybe …

  • 24. Hassenpfeffer  |  June 2nd, 2008 at 9:26 pm

The ear. As I said before that was his downfall. What were his people thinking? When that thing exploded it was over.

Sounds like a missed a party. It was pretty cool where I was at. Man those hard core MMA folks really don’t like Kimbo. There were about a half dozen at the party I was at. Pretty cool when the Kimbo fight came on there was about 50 people in the room. Even the old dudes that didn’t know anything about this wanted to see. It was a cool party but no pop-a-shot.

  • 25. manuel  |  June 2nd, 2008 at 9:51 pm

This Kimbo thing reminds me a lot of Hulk Hogan.

Hogan was a talentless hack in the ring; but he drew the money. Meanwhile, all the true hardcore fans much preferred Ric Flair.

I just want to say that this is not elitism or MMA snobbery as has been mentioned, this is basically folks (like myself) that have been following the sport for a long time wanting the real talent get its due.

I still believe that any UFC card on network tv would outdraw that show easily; but the UFC would rather put that on PPV where they’ll make more money.

  • 26. Hassenpfeffer  |  June 2nd, 2008 at 11:07 pm

Ric Flair, I took him and the 4 horseman to the airport. What a class act. I can’t find enough good things to say about Ric.

  • 27. Hassenpfeffer  |  June 2nd, 2008 at 11:10 pm

Hoch, bring the fake-ass wheel to Jai Alai. Also are you planning any special guests? Kimbo?

  • 28. King of Loserville  |  June 3rd, 2008 at 8:57 am

Manuel, the Kimbo-Abbott fight was actually on Showtime so their were no PPV buys…

  • 29. TC  |  June 3rd, 2008 at 1:30 pm

Two cents: The fight was entertaining. I was legitimately nervous that they would call the fight in the 2nd round and Kimbo would go on a Hulk-ian type rampage complete with shameless Hulk the movie promotion.

I see why true MMA-ers think he sucks, cant wait for him to get beat, etc. But I think Manual’s point about Hogan is perfect. Some guys just have that magical aura about them and it explodes seemingly in the face of all evidence to the contrary. Ultimately though the bigger Kimbo gets, more $$$$ for everyone. And that my friends is what its all about.

  • 30. manuel  |  June 3rd, 2008 at 2:45 pm

    You’re right King…oopps. Don’t really follow EXC.

I’ll tell you what was more brutal than Saturday’s event, Dan’s horrible interview with those two jabroni’s yesterday about Sigfried and Roy…man, that was f’n painful.

  • 31. cc  |  June 3rd, 2008 at 3:04 pm

Even more painful is Zaslow’s show

  • 32. manuel  |  June 3rd, 2008 at 3:48 pm

Yeah, it was brutal in a LOL way.

I think we all know that Zas sucks and doesn’t know sh*t.

Anyone listen to Misch on the weekends before?

    Thoughts?

I think he’s better than Zaslow by a mile.

  • 33. Hassenpfeffer  |  June 3rd, 2008 at 4:08 pm

I like Misch, I have stated that in previous post. I also like Dos Amigos.

I caught the Kick Boxing championship last night on Sun. That was pretty cool. I think the issue I have with MMA is sitting on someone and pummeling them. I don’t see that as a skill but that’s just my opinion. I like the rest.

  • 34. hoops  |  June 3rd, 2008 at 4:27 pm

Misch is pretty good along with the Dos and Goldie is not just a hockey guy. Zaslow tries to talk hoops which is very funny.

  • 35. manuel  |  June 3rd, 2008 at 4:54 pm

Well Goldie is a polished radio guy with great opinions. He would be perfect for the 7-10 slot; but i’m pretty sure he doesn’t need it with his hockey gig.

I think it’s obvious that Zas got his spot because he “paid his dues” by producing various shows; but I hate that kind of thinking. I mean Andy King produces; but he sucks on the air even more than Zas.

  • 36. TC  |  June 3rd, 2008 at 5:50 pm

Come on guys, stay focused. Keep on topic. We get you don’t like the guy. We get it. Now lets move on.

  • 37. cc  |  June 3rd, 2008 at 8:06 pm

King, love your blogs. Question to you is Zas on the show little people ?

  • 38. TC  |  June 3rd, 2008 at 9:50 pm

Hoch, I love the goofy Stu Gotz laugh that you play on the intros sometimes. That, along with the old K-Rog snort type thing always make me laugh.

  • 39. manuel  |  June 4th, 2008 at 12:29 am

I sent Hoch an e-mail about this new show….celebrity wrestling hosted by HULK HOGAN. This has train wreck and entertainment written all over it with Screech, Todd Bridges, Butterbean and a bunch of other D celebrities.

Maybe Hogan will come back to promote this and make his triumphant return to The Dan LeBatard Show!

    http://www.411mania.com/wrestling/news/77041/Celebrity-Participants-For-Hulk-Hogan%5C%5Cs-Celebrity-Championship-Wrestling-Announced.htm

  • 40. King of Loserville  |  June 4th, 2008 at 1:30 am

Manuel…welcome to the club my friend…glad we can see eye to eye even after our heated discussion. The Hulk Hogan thing is right on…Hogan found in the garage of his home playing a guitar with his band one day…on the cover of Sports Ill…the next…

I gotta say this whole divorce and stuff with Nick is really giving him some bad exposure.

Hogan is doing this show with Eric Bischoff I think…now that man had a good thing going…spending all of Ted Turner’s money…telling Vince McMahon to go screw himself at every turn…signing his top stars…and even after all of that Vince still hires him.

Hogan was all hype…but I ate that shit up just like everyone else…I had the Hogan wristbands, the jump robe, the blue plastic dumbells, the hand grip…wow…I can’t believe I just admitted all this…HAHAHA

    Flair…class act…went out on top…Vince did him good…

Hall of Fame 2008…The Rock tried to steal the show…he’s totally Hollywood now…

JT…4 million for first movie? someone is reallt taking chance…

Now I’m not a Dolphins fans, nor do I think JT is in the wrong…but just remember man…you close that door on the NFL and what are you gonna do if the movie career doesn’t pan out?

    Good Blog so far…MMA, Wrestling…less Asslow talk…

    Let’s keep it up Hochamaniacs!!!

  • 41. Hassenpfeffer  |  June 4th, 2008 at 5:29 am

King, you left out the fact that Hogan got big pub as Thunder Lips in Rocky III. He was nothing until then. I enjoyed the Hulk character but I just went to one WWF match, Hulk fought Andre the Giant. If I remember correctly Hulk ended up body slamming The Giant after getting his ass kicked through most of the match. Y’all remember the shtick, Hulk gets his ass kicked and then gets pissed off and wins. I didn’t invest in the paraphernalia. LOL,

As far as The Rock goes, I thought he was riot. I use to watch with my neighbors when I lived in N. Miami. I use to love when he would get interviewed buy the nerdy guy and talk a bunch of shit about his candy-ass. I also I liked that he was recruited by UM and was a real athlete. Who knows maybe if he didn’t get injured in college he would have made it to the NFL and been on “Dancing with the Stars”.

Which segways me into JT. (that was pretty slick). I think it was great that JT was on “Dancing with the Stars”. I think The Tuna and staff looked like jerks getting pissy about it. They should have used it to promote the Dolphins but they didn’t, stupid on their part. JT did himself and the Dolphins a BIG disservice by saying on Sunday that he would only play one more year. Hey JT lets play poker sometime, I could use the extra money. As far as JT’s movie career I could see a character like this, half James Bond, half Mr. Tibbs. The gentleman badass but what do I know, I’m not a movie producer. I do know that chicks think he’s hot and guys know he is a stud defensive end. I will say this if the Tool Will Smith can do it why not JT.

Manuel, you are welcome here and keep post. Hola to the newest Hochamaniac. You realize that as the rookie you have to buy all the rest of the Hochamaniac;’s beers at the next event. Good thing they are only a buck.

What happened to Cortes? Cortes where are you? Oh, I guess Zas has you in the box and doesn’t need the gimp at the moment.

  • 42. Hassenpfeffer  |  June 4th, 2008 at 6:56 am

I meant to mention that Wayne didn’t control his employees darning this whole JT thing. That will include Bill, Tony, JT and puppet GM. Is anyone in control of this train wreck called The Dolphins? NO Wayne ruined half of Pro Sports in S. FLA and is about to ruin another quarter. Even with the Tuna in charge.

  • 43. King of Loserville  |  June 4th, 2008 at 10:17 am

Ah…yes…Hulk Hogan…Hass did you know that he dumb ass ref counted three in the beginning of that match at Wrestlemania III by accident cause Hogan couldn’t get up?

I like the Rock myself…but man he could have done both for a little while…I know Hollywood knocked on the door, but I am sure he is not getting the same rush someone gets when they are playing in a sold out stadium or arena…

U bring up some good points…only time will tell with JT…it’s all good. I’ll back him too…

Great on the field in his prime…by the way…

  • 44. Alex  |  June 4th, 2008 at 12:48 pm

James Thompson in an interview said they drained the ear but the swelling was so advanced that it would just fill up with blood again in a few minutes. They didn’t stop the fight because of the ear anyway.

About Kimbo, I like the guy but his bandwagon is unbearable. He may garner MMA attention in the short-term but in the medium and long-term his star is gonna fade. If they can put together a list of crappy fighters he can beat, I’d say otherwise, but I couldn’t name more than 5 heavyweight fighters, worldwide, he would be a favorite against. I thought Thompson was a great opponent for him, another brawler with a knack for getting knocked out in under 30 seconds with no grappling credentials, (though Kimbo made him look like a ADCC champ) and look how that turned out.

He just can’t sustain his stardom in that sport having no wrestling, atrocious jujitsu, and no cardio. Its true that he can hit hard but so do a lot of guys in that sport and they can do it in a more technical and varied fashion.

  • 45. manuel  |  June 4th, 2008 at 1:11 pm

Just for the record, I made a few posts back in the very early days of Hoch’s blog; but it was so dead that I just stopped posting for a very long time. By early days, I mean Zas, Andy and Joe Rose’s producer all had blogs…look it up.

Either way, i’d be happy to buy a round of beers at the June 18th Jai Alai event for King and Hass and whoever else is a Hochamaniac. This blog has some real character now.

Rock was f’n hilarious at the WWE HOF induction. Really made me miss him and explained why I don’t really watch the E anymore, specially since old man Flair retired.

Bas Rutten was awesome and incredibly honest. I was texting Dan about his stupid questions and then Dan texted me back ripping into me…I had to sadly apologize.

  • 46. cc  |  June 4th, 2008 at 2:11 pm

Manuel, great posts along with the Hochamaniacs. My question is King which horse are you betting on in Belmont as I heard Zaslow is riding the 5 horse ?

  • 47. Hassenpfeffer  |  June 4th, 2008 at 2:57 pm

Manuel, I remember the early days. Everyone had a blog. Zas’s sucked as much as his radio show does now. Then all of a sudden this was the only blog on the site. I use to post under a varity of names. Basically as you said because it was kinda dead. I stuck with Hassenpfeffer because it is an old persons expression. I remember when I was a kid my mom use to always say Oh Hassenpfeffers instead of Oh shit.

  • 48. manuel  |  June 4th, 2008 at 3:45 pm

Here’s a question i’m curious about, is Stugotz still the General Manager of the station? I’ve heard some other guy before mentioned as GM.

  • 49. TC  |  June 4th, 2008 at 4:02 pm

Manuel, this is a complete guess but I’m thinking the Station/Show have taken off so much that it allowed them to hire someone else, maybe with more experience, and Stu Gotz could concentrate on the show and I guess selling 790 to advertisers, etc. He is the Bee-assador isnt he?

I doubt he was “relieved” of his duties in the negative sense. I just think it probably made sense for everyone around.

  • 50. King of Loserville  |  June 4th, 2008 at 4:14 pm

Asslow was remvoed from the race when the realized he was wearing platfirms to meet the height requirement.

I wouln’t be surprised if Big Brown Wins and then tested positive for steriods on Monday morning…

I can already see it on the ESPN scroll…

Thanks TC, makes sense although i’m not sure exactly what he would need to concentrate on regarding the show when he spends most days just agreeing (u-huh, sure) and fake laughing at Dan. Funny enough though, when Dan is by himself, I actually miss Stugotz…go figure.

You guys are killing me…ESPN Scroll LOL.

When Dan is by himself he uses Hoch. At least there is some kind of exchange.

When at Jai Alai why doesn’t someone ask him? Oh yeah should I bring a frog just to see if the fear is true?

  • 53. King of Loserville  |  June 4th, 2008 at 5:55 pm

If you bring a forg…Stugotz is going to crap a little Asslow….do we realy need to of them in this world????

Hey I got a question now. What side is the Marlins dugout on? 1st base or 3rd?

  • 55. hoops  |  June 4th, 2008 at 7:39 pm

This Marlins bullpen needs to wake up as they have had the lead 3 times this week going into the 8th. They will be fine and another great prediction by Zas that they miss D-TRAIN and Miggy. He does not know hoops and baseball

  • 56. manuel  |  June 4th, 2008 at 7:49 pm

I actually thought no one could play 3rd worse than Miggy…well….hello Jorge Cantu. That MF’r has a frying pan for a glove.

  • 57. baseball  |  June 4th, 2008 at 8:23 pm

whoa whoa whoa hoops. your name aint baseball. mine is. now that means i get to determine if Zas knows baseball. you handle hoops, bc thats your name and ill handle baseball bc thats mine

now, zaslow is short and white and unathletic. he could possibly be good at baseball. so i determine he can say what he wants about it and if we dont agree with him we can turn the radio off and SHUT THE FUCK UP ABOUT HIM!

  • 58. Hassenpfeffer  |  June 4th, 2008 at 8:50 pm

TC, At regular season home games the Marlin’s dugout is on the 1st base side.

Ummm, I handle baseball but you are more than welcome to give your option. Besides if you are going to appoint yourself expert than at least answer TC’s question? Maybe you might think about a new name. Just a thought.

Thanks Hass. Big Phillies fan so I’m looking forward to next week. Finally some baseball to go to. Even if its in a freakin football stadium.

You guys don’t understand what its like to have a packed baseball stadium to go too. Its insane in Philadelphia right now. Hopefully when you guys get yours it will be nice and people will go.

Is the show on the net today? All I hear is music.

  • 61. Hassenpfeffer  |  June 4th, 2008 at 10:07 pm

TC, Yes I do. I am from STL. I have even been to the new Busch the first year it opened. I went to a Cubs game and also a Marlins game. I was at the playoffs and WS in 03 that was cool. 65,000 at a baseball game.

That’s right build it and they will come.

Hoch, you stil owe me a t-shirt from last jai alai. Really it was just cool getting a shout out from ya in the blog. Since is blog is bloomming can we get the 3rd to 5th rows, center reserved for the Hochamaniacs? If not. Hochamaniniacs sit in the first 5 rows front and center. Those of you that were there last time, that would be where everyone from the station was….well at least the first 3 rows on the left side, looking at the court.Less than 2 weeks away. I am already trying mustering up friends to go. I fell way short of the 25 that I wanted but ended up with 4 but one was a girl so I got Hocha-bonus points cuz one was a chick.

Sandeel, Where ya at? At 62 post you have not shown yourself. U OK? Give us a shout just to let us know your okay.

  • 63. Hassenpfeffer  |  June 5th, 2008 at 5:07 am

Knicks fan, U 2. WTF. Guys you OK or just busy. At least stop by to rip Zas.

  • 64. Hernando  |  June 5th, 2008 at 1:23 pm

    Dania Jai-aLai AGAIN :( …………………..

how about a Marlins game instead, or a soccer game for that matter (dan would love that)

I think a charity event you could do for the next MMA fight at boomers, would be a pop-a-shot tournamet. 10 dollar entry fee. half for charity half for winner.

Does Steve White have down syndrome?

  • 65. manuel  |  June 5th, 2008 at 3:29 pm

Hey I love Dania Jai alai!

Anyways, i live in West Palm so it’s sort of within distance and accessible. I won $80 at the last event there..yee-haw.
