Lots of Events… By Hoch
August 15th, 2008
We have lots of Dan LeBatard Show events coming up… All of a sudden we’re crawling out of our shells and we’re hanging out with people all over South Florida. We had a great time at our movie screening for “Tropic Thunder” at the Muvico in Hialeah. That was our first event in a long time in the 3-0-5, and as Dan predicted, we were greeted warmly! (And by warmly, I mean a smattering of “boo” and “you guys suck.”
Tropic Thunder was an excellent movie… I’m hoping we do another event in Hialeah soon. Those are my people! (I have video from the event if you want to see it. There’s going to be a new button on the 790 Homepage that says something like “click here for LeBatard Show Videos” and you’ll be able to see videos from our events at Dania and the movie screenings, etc. Keep checking the homepage, as it could be active right now!)
Our next event is Wednesday, August 20 at Dania Jai-Alai… If you want one of the 100 free t-shirts Wednesday night at Dania, make sure you e-mail me your name to cantstanddan@790theticket.com. I’m making a t-shirt list and the first 100 people on the list will get a free shirt. We’re also giving away a $100 gas card that night, as well as tickets to see the Faber-Brown fight at The Hard Rock Live on September 10th. Also, since our event is on a Wednesday night, there will be dollar hot dogs, dollar beers, dollar ice cream… dollar everything. So make sure you’re hanging out with us Wednesday at Dania Jai Alai. (Also, our next poker tournament is going to be September 17th at Dania Jai Alai. This time it’s going to be a $50 buy-in, so the cash prizes are going to really jump.)
Then on Wednesday, August 27th we’re going to be at Soo-Woo Japanese Steakhouse in Doral. We’re bringing 50 pair of tickets to see the Canes home opener, and we’re going to give those tickets away for free, randomly, that night. Just show up and hang out with us at Soo Woo August 27th after the show, and you might get the tickets.
Then… On Monday, September 8th we’re going to have a Monday Night Football watch party at a Quarterdeck… (Don’t know which Quarterdeck yet, but I’ll keep you posted.)
Lots of events going on, but (if I do say so myself), our events are always fun and you always have a chance of walking away with a great prize for free. I’ll blog more later, but I just wanted to say thanks to everyone that came out to the movie in Hialeah, and tell everyone I look forward to seeing them at Dania Jai-Alai on Wednesday. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to head to the mall food court alone and grab something to eat.

Hoch, ” Everything Is A Dollar” do the people at Dania Jai Alai know this?
Also are you guys going to be doing ” The Fake Pre-Game Show” before Dolphins games this year?
Now someone post so I can post again.
2. Hoch | August 15th, 2008 at 4:10 pm
No Fake Pregame Show this year.
3. King of Loserville | August 15th, 2008 at 4:28 pm
Apparentlt Dan was not paid for last year…so he’s on strike…
White this better not have been your decision…
If everyone the F.P.G. Show was the birth place of Chicken Mustaches and Wannyton Soup…it was during a family feud…no…I am not one of those crazsy people to remember everything…I was the one that called in gave those answers.
Hoch, Can we have a field trip to a Marlins game?? I think it’s time for the Hochamaniacs to pay a visit to Pinto and the rest of the Bull “shit” pen
4. King of Loserville | August 15th, 2008 at 4:30 pm
My bad on the grammer… I downloaded this “suretype” extension for Explorer and it’s obviously not working…
5. TC | August 15th, 2008 at 4:54 pm
Hoch, be honest: Have you ever gotten laid because of Dan’s crappy celebrity?
6. manuel | August 15th, 2008 at 5:12 pm
I’m going to miss the Fake Pregame Show. Damn you 790! Pay the man and lets do it.
Hoch, I forget, when LeBadouche goes on vacation are you and Stugotz going to be off as well or is Stugotz going to do the cliche duties by himself?
I also heard Dan mention that Boog might sit in a few days while he’s out…all I can say is THANK GOD! Although my option would still be for you Hoch to be the host.

Those are excellent choices…LOL.
Kamala can just slap his belly for 3 hours a day.
Mean Gene is actually genius. I think he can pull it off too.
9. Hassenpfeffer | August 15th, 2008 at 6:01 pm
I would like to add Ed Kaplan to the list of fill-ins.
Yeah Hoch, how about a Marlins game? I suggested “a bring your kid to the ballgame” but like always you never responded. Just like my email for an “I heart Dania t-shirt”. You know if you can bring back Jai Alai maybe you can do the same for Marlins attendance. I can just see Hoch in the booth and Tommy Hutton saying “Yes the 63rd consecutive Marlins sellout of the season. Thanks to Marc Hochman. You know everybody all these people in the stands are Marlins Fans but first in foremost they are Hochamanics. Hoch first you bring back the popularity of Jai Alai and now the Marlins, what is your secret?”
10. King of Loserville | August 15th, 2008 at 8:14 pm
Hass, the only thing is there aren’t any specials at the Marlins game:
$7 Beer
$5 Hot Dog
$3 Pretzel
$15 parking
Damnit Wayne…you and all your millions…why don’t you take one of those stale pretzels, stick some hotdogs through the little holes in them, throw that in a bucket of popcorn, add some of that spoiled Edy’s ice cream you sold me the other night, throw it in a blender, add some of that Non American Bud you sell …mix it up real nice…stick it in a thermos…close it up real tight…turn it side ways and STICK IT STRAIGHT UP YOUR CANDY ASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
11. manuel | August 15th, 2008 at 8:26 pm
H to the WeZaine…W to the HuZaine…
12. Hoch | August 16th, 2008 at 3:38 am
Definitely gonna do a Marlins field trip before the season is over… True, Dan did not get paid for Fake Pregame Show last year (I did), but he was still willing to do it again this year. I didn’t want to do it again, so we all decided not to do it. I really enjoy being home for the pregame and games… my dad is sick, so i’m looking forward to watching as many Bears games with him as we can, and not have to worry about Fake Pregame Show… Let’s just consider it a one year experiment that didn’t pan out…
13. Hassenpfeffer | August 16th, 2008 at 10:12 am
Hoch, my best to your father. I am now rooting for the Da Bears, as I am sure all the Hochamnicas will do.
Wishing you and your family a Bear-y,Bear-y, good Season.
Hass
14. King of LOserville | August 16th, 2008 at 2:44 pm
I am not a Bears fan, but hey I’ll root for them if it’s gonna help your dad get through hard times.
Hopes he gets better…Hochamaniacs are for life …we talk shit about each other, about the douche bags on the station, but “at the end of the day” we are gonna have each others back.
I can send Dan a penny for his time if he would like…be it that the fake pregame show was only good thanks to you and Santa!!!
If the Marlins keep playing like this we are going to the only ones at the stadium during the field trip.
15. manuel | August 16th, 2008 at 9:21 pm
Hope all works out with your Dad Hoch. My dad went through cancer last year, so I know how hard it can be. Go Bears (?)…
Hoch,
I was at Publix today and I think all Publix’s are doing the same thing and maybe leading up to Jai Alai you can have Dan promote this on the radio. They have a bunch of tuna and other canned meats in the “buy one get one free” bin. Pretty good deal and we can amp up the donations slated for Wednesday.
“if you’re not down with Hochamania, we got 2 words for ya…SUEY IT!!”
16. King of Loserville | August 16th, 2008 at 10:00 pm
Hoch, no Olympic chat? What gives I thought you like the Olympics?
My ass has been staying up past midnight everyday, then I start scrolling through my dish menu and I see more coverage…they have sucker me into sleep deprivation.
Manuel now that is a good t-shirt idea…Black and Green Shirts…
Hoch I sent you a music file…maybe you can use it for Monday Night Raw Sueyage!!…Jive Soul Bro
17. King of Loserville | August 16th, 2008 at 10:04 pm
Ok so now Sid, Jorge and Asslow are the only ones with their own shows? (no co-host)..
Why don’t you just put Sedano and Asslow together on the overnight and call it “The Dos Pendejos”
18. sandeel | August 16th, 2008 at 10:06 pm
Definitely will miss the fake pregame show.
19. Anonymous | August 16th, 2008 at 10:33 pm
NO MAS MIDGET ASLOW
20. Hassenpfeffer | August 17th, 2008 at 5:51 am
Can we get more of Josh Freeman? Really this guy knows his shit.
I was going to get a free sub from the Firehouse on Friday but that fuck Asslow came on advertising Firehouse and I just went home. Really what are they thinking? Asslow as a spokesman??? I will not eat there until they stop with the joke.
Is anyone following the Olympics? First time in a long time that I am really getting into it. As great as Phelps is I am still a Spitz fan. My first year on swim team was when he won his 7 gold. If I could have only grown a stache at age 7, who knows.
21. King of Loserville | August 17th, 2008 at 7:38 pm
Pinto strikes again…can we please get this guy off the mound? Bases Loaded no outs…and Soriano doubles…and please don’t say “what is he suppose to do in that situation”…he should have never been in that situation
Hss I’ve been watching…fun stuff…Phleps was great…the gymnastics was cool…
Can’t say I am entertained by the basketball…I mean it’s basically the NBA vs. The World…kind of watered down and borrowing…
I got caught up in the synchronized diving…crazy how the Chinese are on point all the time.
22. King of Loserville | August 17th, 2008 at 7:42 pm
Pinto has given up the lead…2 on base, one out…someone hit the Maroone music already!!!
23. Hassenpfeffer | August 17th, 2008 at 7:59 pm
Yes Pinto needs to go back to the minors.
Yeah King caught all that but I kinda like to see the NBA guys school the world in basketball. Track and Field the US should do well.
Geez that fucken Pinto 8-2 now what a fuck. I bet he hangs with Zas.
24. King of Loserville | August 17th, 2008 at 8:24 pm
There’s an idea on the overnight…Asslow and Pinto the “Dos Come Mierdas” Show
25. King of Loserville | August 17th, 2008 at 8:59 pm
Another week of disappointment with the Marlins…why is ti=his team struggling all of a sudden after their pitching has stepped it up?
So let’s see what this weeks radio broadcast is going to look like…
Sid will praise the Mets and rightfully destroy the Marlins.
Rogers, will call the team a .500 team…blah, blah
Sedano is too worried about his Yankees, but he needs to be somewhat PC do to his Freddie Gonzalez show.
Dan, will call them an exiciting team that has been playing like this all year
Asslow…well the fuck cares I don’t listen to this jackass
This town is so weird; even the fans don’t hold the teams accountable…and this is the best part, those fans that do, that have gone to more games then most of the host on 790 get crucified by the host and get told ridiculous comments that range from; “what else do you expect”, “they are a .500 team”, “what is Freddie going to do”
Bottom line…this town jumps off the band wagon as quickly as they jump on. I have gotten close to heat stroke sitting at a game at least a dozen times…but I am a realist. I think it’s a shame that a town that has won two world series doesn’t get their arms around this team. I think it a shame that we are not allowed to sit in judgment of the team by the local radio, and when we do we either get our calls dumped or called a “fan from another city”. I think it blasphemist that Freddie Gonzalez has not been put through the ringer yet by the media, and that all we get is “he’s working with what he has”…damn it if you don’t think what you have is working tell Samson, Hill, and another one else that this shit ain’t working.
Jacobs and Uggla…0-4 each…I say we start paying players by performance…cause this is unacceptable.
Neither of them are black so at least Dan won’t mind that these two guys need to get benched…
Across the board I hear well they are exceeding expectations…you know what I say to that…BOLOGNA…that’s right…I said it…B-O-L-O-G-N-to the mother fuckin A.
No one knows if they will perform at this level next year…and I dare say..Arbitration = Diva Status in the MLB…they want to get there’s.
Pinto needs to go to the minors
Any hitter that is not hitting needs to get a day off, figure it out, etc.
The Bullpen..well what else can be said…they are the Bad News Bears of the Marlins.
I’m spent…I think by blood pressure is 120 over 200…
To all Host of 790…go back and get you testicles and start calling out all the Marlins brass you have on the station…
26. King of Loserville | August 17th, 2008 at 9:01 pm
Sorry for the 3rd consecutive post but…
BREAKING NEWS:>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Manny just hit is 6th in LA
Who needs that!!
27. Hassenpfeffer | August 18th, 2008 at 5:36 am
King Post early and post often.
(In John Madden Voice)
Just cuz you post something doesn’t mean that something might come up and BOOM you need to post again.
Yeah King this town sucks. What the fuck. The Marlins don’t play D, don’t play small ball and the bullpen sucks. Why is it great that they just play long ball? If we had a BP, played D and had timely hitting we would be in first by at least 7 games. WTF.
As you all know I am from STL and who you believe the Cardinal fans have been calling for the firing of LaRussa for over 10 years. Why because he is not Whitey Herzog.
Here is why Whitey’s Teams ALWAYS played great defense, hit for average, great starting and relief pitching, manufactured runs and won.
On another note they are a 21 million dollar ball club. Just think if they were a 55 million dollar ball club. I see your point King but geez the front office should have done more to shore up the team a month ago. It’s not all Freddies fault but the Defense is what really pisses me off. Defense wins championships. Picthing and defense are one in the same. A great defense will make an average pitcher look like a hall of famer.
28. Hassenpfeffer | August 18th, 2008 at 5:41 am
On a different note is anyone going to Jai Alai? I’ll be there. If you go let Hoch know who you are he would be happy to meet you. I would like to meet y’all. Great bunch here.
29. KIng of Loserville | August 18th, 2008 at 9:33 am
Hass, no doubt…brass should have done something months ago, but Freddie who spends the majority of his time with the team should have said…he guys we are winning but we are going to need some help for the stretch…maybe he did, maybe not…Freddie does not strike me as that type of manager..
He’s not in your face or he’s more Management friendly.
30. King of Loserville | August 18th, 2008 at 12:11 pm
I am going to try to make Jai Alai…all depends on what the storm does to the Keys, etc…might have to put in some overtime.
31. TC | August 18th, 2008 at 1:19 pm
Damn, this board is hotter than Allison Stokke. Nice job everyone. I think the Marlins are going to fade. Its a long season and I think even though the players are young, they dont have the experience to handle the 162. Thats why its the dog days of summer. Plus you gotta leap 2 teams, not 1. But the good news is you guys have a very nice young pitching staff. Marlins will contend for next few years.
32. Hassenpfeffer | August 18th, 2008 at 4:15 pm
Or Alicia Sacramone.
33. manuel | August 18th, 2008 at 4:34 pm
I was so sick with the Marlins this weekend, I couldn’t even bring myself to bitch.
Here’s an idea Uggla and Jacobs, when a guy is on third with less than 2 outs…how ’bout maybe going for contact so you can drive him in with a fly out? No, lets just keep swinging wildly and hope we get lucky.
Anywho, at least Henne looks like he’s got some potential.
34. King of Loserville | August 18th, 2008 at 5:25 pm
Manuel, not a Dolphins fan…won’t comment anymore…read below my Sedano experience.
Sedano has already waved the “don’t blame Freddie” flag.
Guys I am not 100% blaming Freddie, what I am saying is if you were the manager of the team and you have the foresight to realize that shit is going to go down hill quick, he NEEDS to go to management and say something.
Sedano’s argument is weak; he says how do we know Freddie doesn’t handle his business in private…well Sedano how do YOU know he does chew them out in private. Cause I gotta tell you if he is chewing them out then these rookies have collectively detached Freddie’s balls from his body.
I see no indication from this ball club that they are willing to change their “hit the ball as hard as I can” mentality. That on its own tells me either Freddie is making he distaste clear and they don’t care, or Freddie is not pulling these guys by the ears and making them kneel on rice all day until they can put a decent ball in play.
Either way you slice it, this is yet another example of how these guys on the radio forget that at one point they were just like us. This city is so sensitive to disagreement, the other day I called Sedano and disagreed with him on how I see the Dolphins doing with Pennington and he cut me off, and then dumped my call and called me a “bitch” after I got off the phone…
I call back and the call screener, says don’t take it personally he was just reaching for something to say. “reaching for something to say”? What about …you may be right…instead of getting so defensive.
Like I said in my last post, this team is not held accountable and when the fans hold them accountable they are hit with the old …”well how would you know” bullshit.
Radio host are radio host…please don’t make it seem as if you have some sort exclusivity cause one day it won’t be exclusive anymore.
Papers are going out the window, and I am sure that there will be stations opening up sooner or later down the road when we can get some advanced technology for national digital radio.
35. manup | August 18th, 2008 at 6:12 pm
Did Sedano say Matt Trainor was pissed at Zas today, caughht the end . What did the mighty midget do ?
36. King of Loserville | August 18th, 2008 at 6:47 pm
Who cares…I wish someone who put him out of his misery…
Probably called him out about something..maybe it went something like this.
Scene: Somewhere in Miami
Matt walking on a local street
Asslow wants to be cool in front of his wife
Asslow “Hey Matt, how does it feel to know that your wife has more gold around her neck them you do on your fingers”
Matt “Do I know you”
Asslow “Haha, just kidding, I’m Asslow from 790 the Ticket”
Matt “Who are you? oh you work for LeBatard?”
Asslow “No no, I have my own show, after the Marlins”
Matt “Oh snap your one of the Dos Amigos”
Asslow “Hahaha…good one…I do the show right aftter your game is over. I also work on the weekends when no else wants to and I wipe Steve White’s ass everytime he takes a crap in WAXY bathroom”
Matt “Never heard of you, and if you every make a comment about my wife I will take my catchers glove and shove it up your ass”
Asslow “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean anything by it, I am just a walking chump stain from the local media, I’m friends with Lebby”
Matt “you are? Last time I do his show. Alright Ass-munch you can leave me alone now”
Matt left enraged, Asslow left smiling like the big douche bag he is.
THE END
37. manuel | August 18th, 2008 at 7:05 pm
You know what makes me laugh really hard? The Zaz “firehouse subs” spot. It sounds like a very bad actor literally reading off of a piece of paper. I don’t know why this just cracks me up every time. His robotic delivery is pathetic.
38. King of Loserville | August 18th, 2008 at 7:43 pm
Did you hear that the first sandwich he promoted was the “New Yark Steamer”…
My 65lbs dog has a nice Miami Steamer he can send him.
Let’s get serious…I say everyone call the staton all day everyday until the Marlins get their shit together…
The host want to make this a non-issue…let’s make it an issue.
39. manuel | August 18th, 2008 at 7:51 pm
I’m with you King.
What I don’t get is the PC on some of these guys. 100 pitches, that’s it? I’m tired of our starters pitching 6 good innings and the sorry ass bullpen blowing the game consistenly.
40. Hassenpfeffer | August 18th, 2008 at 10:17 pm
Well next 3 are against the Giants, 3 with the D-Backs and then 3 with Braves. If we can go 7-2 the fish should be in good shape.
King you are killing me with the “Somewhere in Miami” skit.
41. KIng of Loserville | August 18th, 2008 at 10:59 pm
Yeah Hass, and if Kamala lost 200 pounds he would be Mr. Universe.
I love baseball, I have grown to love the Marlins, but listen man…I have suffered through night games, day games, afternoon games and I will keep rooting for them. But come the Field trip is trying to get together. If I so much as see Pinto get out of his chair I will heckel Freddie until I lose my voice.
If any Marlins are reading this…make this your alternative after the game. Don’t put on Asslow, come chat with us on the GREATEST BLOG in the history of blogging.
42. Hassenpfeffer | August 19th, 2008 at 12:45 am
I just say never give up hope. I am a realist and the Fish most likely will not win the division but look at the Mets last year. Yeah never know. Yeah I think we all agree Pinto is shit BTW if you hit him in the ass will he blow up, like the car? Oh wait you don’t even have to do that, just send him to the mound. It would be best if they just sent him to the minors.
43. King of Loserville | August 19th, 2008 at 5:35 pm
Why the hell does this station keep taking call from “Matt, from South Beach” the cousin of Ronnie Brown.
Bro if you have a problem with Ronnie I am sue you can find him…he’ll be on the bench every game this year.
Secondly, you aren’t gonna get an street crid going on the radio and admitting that you know Asslow, especially after the evening before you asked Dan if he knew you and he said, as only Lebby can say it “no”.
44. manuel | August 19th, 2008 at 5:54 pm
If Ricky stays healthy and off the “chiba”, he will dominate and should be the starter in my book.
Lets not forget though, Ronnie was pretty dominant early last year before getting hurt. In fact, he was the all purpose leader in the NFL.
45. Hassenpfeffer | August 19th, 2008 at 6:43 pm
Boy are the US Women Gymnastics getting hosed in this Olympics or what.
Ricky is still the man.
46. Hassenpfeffer | August 20th, 2008 at 7:28 am
Sorry but I just saw an interview with Crystal Bustos from the US Softball team but the chicks a dude. I thought they tested for this stuff. Really I thought she was just a fat chick but damn the chicks a dude. Listen to her/him talk. I’m not a hater but shit was watching the interview and I thought who is this dude. Then they gave the name. Honestly I don’t care but I hope she/he don’t get the gold yanked from the US. Nice long ball against Japan maybe the Marlins should pick her/him up.
On another note, bring food to Jai Alai tonight.
47. Hassenpfeffer | August 20th, 2008 at 7:33 am
Re-read the last post and yeah that was so wrong but the Marlins should pick her up.
Wrong but yeah thought is true.
Sorry for the back to back to back posts but it’s 3:30 and the game did go into extra innings.
48. manup | August 20th, 2008 at 2:00 pm
Would love to see Matty knock him out. Zas could use his midget wrestling skills.Go Marlins
49. TC | August 20th, 2008 at 3:18 pm
Hey Hoch, wheres that video of the movie night you promised us?
50. Hassenpfeffer | August 20th, 2008 at 6:24 pm
TC go to Youtube and search for Dan Lebatard mustache. You really can see it too well. At one point it looked like a Hitler Mustache.
51. TC | August 20th, 2008 at 7:16 pm
Thanks buddy. Hochamaniacs helping Hochamaniacs.
52. Hassenpfeffer | August 21st, 2008 at 7:21 am
Hochamaniacs Rule. We really should choose one event where we all come out. I was at Jai Alai and Team 4 was in Jets colors I got the crow to join me in Team Farve has heart/no heart and Team Fave wants’ it more. All depending on if I was betting on them or not.
I also meet Mr. Hochman (Hoch’s Dad), and he was doing well. As I promised Hoch in an email I would tell his father what a great person his son is. Here is basically what I told him
The man that resurrected Dania Jai Alai. Mr. Hochman said he remembered when the place was dead. I related to that.
That Hoch took a talentless Dan to high radio ratings….I love that one. No comment from Mr. Hochman but he did chuckle
Most inportant I told Mr. Hochman that the posters are this blog are in his sprit are Bears fans. WOW. He stopped and shook my hand and said thank you. Hoch’s Dad is one of the best fans of a team I have ever met. He relayed thanks to of all. Great Job Hochamanics. Just rooting for this man’s team will do wonders.
My friend Jim Stawartz won the MMA tickets hey Hoch Stawartz is pronounced Stay- Warts. DUH… Hoch. Anyway Jim sold them to a fan of the show. (you and Dan know this but the Hochamanics don’t….both Dan and Hoch were happy for a winner) It was a win, win for all. I won nothing. Jim is in his late 50’s and will travel to see a great local Rock band live. He also has a cool sailboat that I get to sail. Yeah I sail the boat. I’m that good.
I lost ten bucks but my friends won twelve so I am up a beer. Smaller crowd than normal but a great crowd. 400 plus.
BTW: Dan is really a cool dude…but Hoch is cooler.
Why because Hoch was hanging with a former Jai Alai player that answered any un-answered question you ever had about jai alai.
Thanks Hoch, Dan and Stugotz for another great event
53. Hassenpfeffer | August 21st, 2008 at 7:42 am
I forgot to meantion after the games were over a couple of jai alai players were on the fronton to talk about the matches. Great play from the net. This was a great event.
54. manuel | August 21st, 2008 at 2:49 pm
Sounds like I missed a good one. I really have to commit to going to the next one since I only went to the inaugural one and haven’t felt like making the drive since.
Good job Hass with Mr. Hoch as you were the mouth piece, the JJ Dillon to the 4 Horsemen for the board.
55. Hassenpfeffer | August 21st, 2008 at 4:34 pm
WOW thanks manuel. I just thought I was being a nice guy.
56. King of Loserville | August 21st, 2008 at 4:51 pm
JJ Status…is big time…
yeah man we need to try to make it to one event…WEdnesday is a tough day for me, almost everything has been on Wednesday lately…
Hass did the all green beef hotdogs do a number on you?
You know what did a number on me? Satyaing up till this morning watching the Marlins lose another one.
If its not one thing its another with this team. And we still continue to hear that they are exceeding expectations…
I wish these host were my boss…when I exceed expecations I get told…good job…now do it better

Specially Danny. I gotta get on his case for his objection of Parcells riding Joey Porter today. That is one thing that annoys the shit out of me about Lebitz. He bitches that these guys “are adults” and they “shouldn’t be yelled at”, that it “doesn’t help anyways”, etc, etc. However, Dan NEVER adds what he would do in that situation and how he would establish structure to the business…because damn it, i don’t care if its sports or business; you need some kind of structure and accountability to be successful.
Rant over.

“A true measure of a man worth is how he treats others.” Profound but true and I forgot whose quote it is.

Guys Dan’s game is always the same…the black man gets the shaft…he doesn’t like dictator coaches, he thinks athletes need to be treated like adults.
Blah blah blah
Dan why aren’t you ripping all the “black” players that didn’t go to mini camps?
Dan takes a subject, goes against the grain and then when everyone go against the same grain he flip flops.
Anyone being paid millions to work 16 weekends out of the year should be going to mini camp.
I can hear Dan now “it’s amazing how our audience is the authority on what is right and wrong and how a player act”…or the famous…
The are doing things that are a lot more difficult then what anyone listening does…or …if you were good at your craft to the same level that they are to theirs you get paid the same way.
Dan we get it…you like to be the “buddy” host of the player…where they don’t have to talk sports they can talk about the toothpick fish, the chupacabra, and golden thongs.
We get it…
A professional athlete is like a commodity for a major corporation. Anyone who goes to the games are stock holders and guess what when a product is not selling, or not performing to the expectations of those stockholders…do you know what happens? They dump the stock…
The Dolphins, the Marlins, the Panthers, the Heat have ALL made their money quick…their bonuses, met their incentive levels…just like CEO’s do…and since then they have taken a shit on the corporation and it’s stockholders.
And sooner or later…everyone will be dumping their stock.
The bottom line…these guys are worried about themselves and the disaster of American Professional Sports all goes back to the first player to every receive a guaranteed contract. Cause now you sign and you get paid regardless if you show up or not…
At one point in 2008 I sent you all (Dan, Stu) an email that South Florida sports combined had managed to gain their 100th loss of their combined seasons…
And you think we don’t need to rip players, and we don’t understand them? Players don’t want to be understood, they want to get paid, its why Manny rolled around in the outfield in Fenway like a dumbass, it’s why TO causes all this trouble with management…coaches have no power, Coaches = Damage Control.
You say you relate or side with the modern day athlete, well you do cause fame is what you desire. To be liked and known…it’s all good man…everyone has their thing..I like pizza, and I like fast cars.
The fact is that you are just another pawn in the world of the modern day athelete, just like me, like Hass, like manuel, the only thing is you have a radio show and a dump button.
Get over it man…if you weren’t in the media you’d be just like us.
You have to be PC, and please don’t tell me your the “rebel” or the Herald, ESPN and 790…that label is played out.
You always take about Ricky, you are a homer for Ricky, he might suck this year, and then what? Well he played with a bunch of rookies…that your excuse…I already know it.
And your 8-8 prediction…out the window too, cause your excuse will be the same.
Come on Danny…let’s be real, you are calculated in what you say, who you say it to, and you guard your perception of players in order to build your own brand.
Don’t keep spending 4 hours ripping management for what they do with their players…cause if you knew how to control athletes of this caliber you wouldn’t be doing a radio show, you’d be on the sidelines.

Hwy man…this is a blog…my opinions aren’t 100% right, they aren’t always correct, but I don’t need to answer to FCC…
I love Dan’s show to death, but this godliness given to atheletes in this country is shameful…
They are employees of an company like anyone else, and regardless of how many zero are in front of the decimal point on their paychecks they should be held to the same standards as any other employee.
Atheletes are entetainers…that’s it..no more no less.
